One-third of the fastest growing occupations will require an associate’s degree or a postsecondary vocational certificate.

Eighty percent of current and emerging occupations require 2-year technical degrees, while just twenty percent require baccalaureate degrees.

Healthcare occupations are expected to make up seven of the twenty fastest growing occupations.

Career and technical education prepares both youth and

            Online Learning
ODIN, the online learning program offered through Carver-Scott Educational Cooperative, is taking on a slightly different look for the 2009-2010 school year.  A comprehensive, standards-based curriculum has been purchased through PLATO Learning.

Students enrolling in ODIN are able to access the program for credit recovery or can take up to half of their regular school day in the program.

It is exciting to be offering a full scope of curriculum for students in grades 9-12.  The focus of ODIN is to work closely with our member school districts to provide an online learning option that meets the needs of each student who enrolls in the program as well as providing rigorous classes that meet the standards of the individual districts.

Students will spend the majority of their class time online but will also be working directly with our full-time instructor to complete the course requirements.

Orientation sessions for ODIN take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  For more information, call Jon Fila (952) 368-8883 or Leslie Lewandowski (952) 368-8828.
