Passage Programs
  • Passage I serves 9th and 10th graders with emotional and/or behavioral disorders who require a self-contained environment.  Passage I provides senior high academic credit while working with students to increase their efficacy along with the ability to utilize their strengths to control their own behavior.  Passage I offers small class sizes, strong application of technology, and mental health support.  Major goals are to engage students in their learning, build a strong sense of community, and mentor students in taking responsibility for their own behaviors.

  • Passage II serves 11th and 12th grade students with emotional and/or behavioral disorders who need a self-contained environment that has a very strong transitional focus and mental health support.  The goal is for students to leave the program with a career/post-secondary plan, and the skills to carry out the plan successfully.  Students are encouraged to participate in the Career & Technical Education programs offered by CSEC.

In both Passage I and II programs, involvement with other non-special education students may occur through physical education, work experience, service-learning, career/technical classes, mainstream classes and field trips.  Students in both programs continually work on building vocational skills, learning self-control, becoming a positive influence in the community, and honing their transitional skills.

  • Passage III is for students under the disability areas of OHD and E/BD, who are 17-21 years of age.  Students participating in this program are typically behind in credits and their special education teams have determined that the student will graduate off of their IEP's instead of completing a credit based program.  Passage III focuses on the three areas of transition:

    - Jobs/Job Training
    - Post Secondary Education
    - Community Participation

Students have the opportunity to participate in Career and Technical classes to learn more about skills and interests.  The goals for this program are to learn how to use personal skills/interests to be a contributing member of society, get a handle on mental health issues, learn to appropriately advocate for yourself, and work on other IEP needs.
